The Centerville location was opened in 2002 by two sisters, Tara Schooley and Brittany Cosgrove, along with their mom, Renae Cosgrove.
Renae Cosgrove, Brittany Cosgrove, and Tara Schooley

Tara Schooley
Tara has been the head instructor and choreographer at DXP for the past 5 years. She has been trained in many styles of dance at different studios, conventions, and workshops. She is VERY excited to get involved in the Chariton community and to meet all of the students and parents. She has always taken the role as the organizer and scheduler at DXP. When she is not at the studio she will be spending time at home with her husband, Ben, and their baby boy, Kane. Ben is an 8th grade social studies teacher and head basketball coach in Chariton.
Brittany Cosgrove
We are so excited to have Brittany back teaching at the studio! She will be in Centerville 3 nights a week & Chariton 1 night a week. Brittany was an instructor and choreographer until she moved to Chicago to attend Columbia College Chicago in 2006. She graduated in 2010 and then worked as a buyer for an apparel company in Kansas City for a year. She loved her job, but needed to return to her passion of dance, and she is back to share that with the DXP students. She enjoys many styles of dance, her specialties being hip hop and lyrical. While in Chicago, Brittany trained at Hubbard Street-Lou Conte Dance Studio, Visceral Dance Chicago, and classes through Columbia’s dance program. She was a member & choreographer of the Hip Hop ConnXion Chicago dance company. Brittany has always taken on the role of the creative one at DXP and she enjoys designing costumes, props, etc. She also edits all of the music. Brittany is looking forward to being full time at DXP.
Renae Cosgrove
Renae will continue to focus on the front end at both studios: helping parents with any questions they may have, ordering and sizing shoes, and bookwork. If you have any questions about notes on the wall, would like to place an order, or are dropping off payment, please see Renae. She continues to help teach the tumbling and technique classes and gets in to supervise a few minutes of classes each week. Renae lives in Centerville and has been married for 27 years to her husband, Doug. Doug manages the Fareway in Centerville.
Ashton Thomas
Ashton took dance & tumbling classes for five years at DXP and also participated in the competition team for 3 years. She joined the teaching staff last year and taught the first half of most classes. She graduated from Indian Hills this past year and will continue taking classes for elementary education. She will continue to instruct the first half of most classes, help with technique & tumbling classes, and sub in classes when needed. She will be instructing & helping at the Centerville location.
